The Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours) (Data Analytics) places a strong emphasis on the growth of analytical abilities in the study of Information technology. The Programme provides core of Information Technology modules complemented with a selection from a wide range of courses that includes the latest advances in IT skills, concepts, and applications such as Parallel Programming, Information Systems Analysis and Design, Web and Network Analytics, Knowledge Management and Data Visualisation.

The program Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours) (Data Analytics) will produce professionals who can be able to:

  • Produce knowledgeable and be technically competent in the field of information Technology in line with industry requirement locally and globally.
  • Perform well as a team player, demonstrate good leadership qualities in an organization, and be effective in communication.
  • Solve problems related to the field of IT creatively, innovatively, ethically, using numerical and technical skills, and through sustainable approach to solve Data Analytics related problems.
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurship skills and recognize the need of lifelong learning, as well using a broad range of information, media, and technology applications for successful career advancement.

i. Passed Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a full pass in 2 subjects or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 and pass the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent with a credit in Mathematics; or

ii. Passed the Matriculation Programme or Foundation of PPT recognized by the Malaysian Government with a CGPA of 2.0 and credit in Mathematics at SPM level or equivalent; or

iii. A Diploma [Level 4, Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF)] in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Information Technology or Information Systems or equivalent with a minimum 2.50 and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent;

iv. Any other Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in Science and Technology or Business Studies with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 may be admitted, subject to a rigorous internal assessment process and a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent;

v. Other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government.

Candidates with CGPA below 2.5 but above 2.0 with a credit in Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted, subject to a rigorous internal assessment process.

Candidate with a credit in Computing related subject at SPM or STPM level or its equivalent mat be given preferential consideration.

English Requirements :
International students must have proof of good proficiency in verbal and written English. For example, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5.0 or its equivalent. If a student does not meet this requirement, HEPs must offer English proficiency courses to ensure that the student’s proficiency is sufficient to meet the needs of the programme.
